Merke Sanatorium is located 12 km from the district centre of Merke, in the wide Merke Gorge of the Kyrgyz Alatau, at about 750 m above sea level. Its main healing factor is radon mineral water from the Merke deposit (chloride-sulphate-bicarbonate, calcium-potassium-sodium, low-mineral, cool), extracted 4 km south of the sanatorium. Radon therapy is carried out in line with health regulations.
