Mankent Sanatorium has operated since 1984 on mineral water from the Mankent deposit, drawn from a depth of 1,210 metres (slightly alkaline, sulphate-chloride-sodium, mineralisation 2.2 g/l, about 38 °C at the outlet). It is located 25 km north of Shymkent and 6.5 km from Mankent station, away from industrial plants. On site there are saunas, a bathhouse, a gym, a summer pool, a spa, a conference hall and organised excursions.
